Stellantis To Stop Selling PHEVs In The US

Stellantis is discontinuing sales of all its plug-in hybrid models in the United States. This means the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, and Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-in Hybrid will no longer be available in showrooms. The Wrangler 4xe’s departure is also noteworthy, as it’s the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the United States. Stellantis already discontinued the Dodge Hornet—the Tonale’s Dodge cousin—in mid-2018.
Stellantis is discontinuing sales of plug-ins in the United States, as it aims to focus on “hybrid vehicles and EREVs,” according to Automotive News. As far as we know, plug-in hybrid Stellantis models will remain available in Europe. And there are quite a few. The Opel Astra, Opel Grandland, Peugeot 308, Peugeot 3008, Peugeot 5008, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Compass, DS Numéro 4, and DS 7 are available as plug-in hybrids.
