Audi Emphasizes That Sales Are Still Highly Influenced By A Vehicle’s Appearance

Demand for Audi cars fell by 2.9 percent last year compared to 2024, which was also not a great year, as deliveries fell by 11.8 percent compared to 2023. The change in the car’s appearance could significantly affect demand, as the company claims that design remains the brand’s biggest sales driver.
Audi board member Marko Schubert told Australia’s CarExpert that the appearance of a vehicle remains a significant sales driver: “For us, design is still the main reason why customers buy our cars.”
The new approach showcased by the Concept C carries the tagline “Radically Next,” which seems fitting given the shift to a completely new philosophy. Schubert is confident that Audi’s new design identity will help it stand out from the competition by embracing “simplification in terms of exterior design, a really clear design, which is really outstanding, which is different from the competition.”
Audi wants to recapture the magic of the original TT, which had an impact on sales and brand image. Additionally, Audi has promised a return to higher-quality materials after admitting that its interior isn’t what it used to be.
The Concept C is still a few years away from production, and it will lead the way for a new era of Audi models. Audi has already revealed that the production version will retain about 87 percent of the Concept C’s design. Company officials have publicly stated that the final product will not revive the TT nameplate. It is expected to arrive by the end of 2027 or early 2028.
