Ferrari launches the all-new Amalfi Spider, a V8 640-hp Convertible designed for open-air driving.

Its soft top, available in tailor-made or technical-fabric, can open in 13.5 secs, even at speeds of up to 37-mph (60-km/h).

Amalfi Spider is powered by an evolved twin-turbo V8 fitted in the Grand Tourer, which delivers 640-horsepower.

It allows the Amalfi Spider to reach 62-mph from rest in 3.3 seconds and onto a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h).

Ferrari has introduced the all-new Amalfi Spider – a two-seat, open-top convertible version of the front-mid-engine V8 Amalfi Coupé that debuted last year as a replacement for the discontinued Roma.

Unlike the Amalfi Coupe, the Ferrari Amalfi Spider is designed for open-air driving. Available in tailor-made or technical-fabric, its soft top can open in just 13.5 seconds, even at speeds of up to 37-mph (60-km/h).

In comparison, Aston Martin’s Vantage roadster features the ‘fastest electric folding convertible roof on sale today’, opening or closing fully in just 6.8 seconds, and at speeds of up to 31-mph (50-km/h).

To improve comfort during open-air driving, the Italian sports car manufacturer built an integrated wind deflector into the Amalfi Spider’s rear bench backrest, which can be operated at the touch of a button.

Like the Ferrari Amalfi Coupé, the cabin adopts a dual-cockpit layout, with a new steering wheel featuring physical buttons and a 10.25” capacitive touchscreen display, which allows both driver and passenger to access key functions like multimedia, radio, phone, screen mirroring and climate control.

“The design of the Ferrari Amalfi Spider was driven by the desire to preserve the proportions and volumes of the Ferrari Amalfi, retaining its elegant, flowing silhouette even with the roof open,” Ferrari said in a statement.

Still powering the Amalfi Spider is an evolved twin-turbo V8 fitted in the Grand Tourer, which delivers 640-horsepower. It allows the Amalfi Spider to reach 62-mph (100 km/h) from rest in 3.3 seconds and 124-mph (200 km/h) in 9.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h).
