All-new Electric Mercedes-Benz VLE Combines Limousine-like Ride With MPV-style Versatility

Mercedes-Benz has finally debuted the all-new electric VLE, the V-Class Minivan replacement, which combines limousine-like ride and handling with high-end Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV)-style versatility.
Built on the new dedicated VAN.EA electric platform with 800-volt technology, the new VLE, which the Mercedes-Benz calls a “Grand Limousine,” boasts a generous 3.34-meter wheelbase that is 14 cm longer than its predecessor.

Mercedes said that the VLE will be available in two variants : The VLE 300 electric will be available first, followed by top-of-the-range performance version, the VLE 400 4MATIC electric, that sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 6.5 seconds.

VLE uses battery-pack with a usable energy content of 115 kWh, which allows it go 700 kilometers (approx. 435 miles). With its 800-volt system, the VLE can gain up to 355 km (approx. 220 miles) within just 15 minutes using high-power DC fast charging.
The VLE comes standard with electric sliding side doors with fully retractable windows. Inside, the VLE offers seating for up to eight people, highlighted by an electric Grand Comfort Seat with an additional pillow, wireless charging, lumbar support, massage function and calf support.

Other highlight inside is the retractable, 31.3‑inch panoramic screen with 8K resolution, split-screen function. Hidden in the headliner above the front seats, the screen is operated via the touchpad in the centre console.
In addition, there is also MBUX Superscreen : A10.25‑inch driver display, a 14‑inch central display, and a 14‑inch screen – the latter, which allows the front passenger to enjoy a personalised entertainment experience such as video streaming and gaming.

“The all-new VLE marks the beginning of a new era for Mercedes-Benz. It brings everything our customers know and love to a new level,” said Thomas Klein, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
“Combining MPV-like versatility with limousine-like driving comfort and an immersive spatial experience, it’s unlike any other vehicle with up to eight seats. The electric VLE will delight customers worldwide because it’s as diverse as they are.”
