Aston Martin Vanquish Celebrates 25 Years Of Existence
At Aston Martin, they celebrate the 25th birthday of the famous Vanquish model, whose first generation came under the spotlight in 2001, and with the last model that was made in the old facilities in Newport Pagnell, the famous British car company impressively demonstrated how a top GT car should look and sound. Since then, the Vanquish has reached three generations, and with each of them, customers were offered the V12 engine exclusively.
With the first generation of Vanquish, which, after a successful job, was enthusiastically thought about by Jason Statham in the new version of the movie The Italian Job (A Good Job in Italy, trans. with Eng.), under the long front hood came a 6-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that developed 466 hp and 400 Nm of maximum torque in the standard version. With the later version ‘S,’ the mentioned atmosphere developed 527 HP and 577 Nm, which was enough for the sound coupé to reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach 322 km/h. Until then, Aston Martin’s fastest production car used a 6-speed automatic transmission to transmit power to the rear axle.
The second-generation Vanquish arrived in 2012, and with a body design reminiscent of the “wild” and numerically limited One-77, Aston decided to offer customers a Volante version with a canvas folding roof. Meanwhile, the improved 6-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine in the more powerful ‘S’ version had 603 hp at 7,000 rpm and 630 Nm of peak torque, and the gearbox from the first generation gave way to a new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The Vanquish S from 0 to 100 km/h arrives in 3.5 seconds and develops 323 km/h.
The current third generation of one of the most revered GT cars of all time was introduced in 2024. Again in two body versions (Coupé and Volante), the Vanquish is still powered by a V12 engine, but due to increasingly strict standards regarding exhaust gas emissions, this time it is a 5.2-liter product that, with the assistance of two turbochargers, develops 835 hp and 1,000 Nm of maximum torque. More than enough for the performance (3.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and 345 km/h), that many call the Vanquish a super sports car in an impeccable suit.
