Throwback: How A Bird And Its Chicks Parked Dubai Crown Prince’s Mercedes G-Wagon For Days
Throwback: The time Dubai’s Crown Prince parked his Mercedes G-Wagon for days to protect a bird’s nest.
Six years later, this iconic 2020 moment still serves as a powerful reminder that humanity and nature should always come first.
Back in August 2020, Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, showed the world what compassion truly means after choosing to keep his Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) off-road for several days to protect a bird’s nest.
Instead of clearing the bonnet to enjoy his high-performance machine, the Prince cordoned off the entire vehicle with red-and-white warning tape and ordered his staff to stay away from the area so they would not scare the expecting mother dove.

According to the influential leader, who has served as the Minister of Defence of the UAE since 14 July 2024, the move was necessitated after the mother dove found the bonnet of his boxy G-Wagon as the most suitable place to lay its eggs.
He also shared a heartwarming time-lapse video with his then 10 million+ Instagram followers. The clip captured the intimate moments the eggs were laid, carefully incubated, and safely hatched into tiny chicks.
The Crown Prince, widely known as Fazza, beautifully captioned the viral video with a profound truth: “Sometimes the little things in life are more than enough.”

Fazza’s deep penchant for animals, including exotic eagles and majestic horses, is well-documented across social media. However, leaving his G-Wagon off the road just to protect a bird’s nest remains one of his most legendary moves.
Six years later, this iconic 2020 moment still serves as a powerful reminder for car enthusiasts worldwide. It shows that no matter how much horsepower we command, humanity and nature should always come first.
