The 281-hp New Peugeot E-208 GTI Is Now Available

In 2025, Peugeot announced the return of the GTi with the e-208 GTi, which appears ready for market. The production version is even quicker than last year’s preview, featuring a 281 hp, 345 Nm electric motor driving the front wheels. It’s the most powerful 208 and GTi yet, with each horsepower only 5.5 kg to move. The e-208 GTi accelerates to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, previously quoted at 5.7 seconds, with a top speed limited to 180 km/h.

The Peugeot e-208 GTi has the same 51-kWh battery (net) as the standard e-208. Nonetheless, the pack’s cooling and battery management have been modified to accommodate the GTi’s improved performance. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres in size 215/40 R18 are standard on the Peugeot e-208 GTi. The irascible Frenchman can go 352 kilometres on such tyres. Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tyres are a free alternative that Peugeot offers for the e-208 GTi. The hot hatch can travel up to 375 km on that rubber.

The e-208 GTI is, of course, more than just an e-208 with increased power and a good, meaty appearance loaded with standard GTi features. It sits 2.5 cm closer to the pavement than a standard e-208 and has upgraded springs and dampers with hydraulic bump stops. Both the front (+5.6 centimetres) and rear (+2.8 centimetres) tracks of the top-tier 208 are wider. A mechanical limited-slip differential and a rear stabiliser bar are added to the 208 GTi. Peugeot installs additional powerful brakes behind the front wheels, complete with red callipers, to bring a fast e-208 GTi back to a proper stop.

The e-208 GTi is available in seven different colours from Peugeot: Okenite White, Elixir Red, Perla Nera Black, Artense Grey, Selenium Grey, Miramar Blue, and Agueda Yellow. Both of those colours are brand-new.
