Porsche’s New 1-of-1 911 GT2 RS Flachbau RS Pays Homage to ‘Moby Dick’

At the 2026 Monterey Car Week, Porsche took the wraps off the all-new 911 GT2 RS Flachbau RS, a one-off factory restomod commissioned by a private collector through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch (Special Request) department.
Featuring a Flachbau (or slant-nose) body style, the front end of the 911 GT2 RS Flachbau RS pays homage to the legendary 1978 935/78 Le Mans racing car nicknamed “Moby Dick.”

“Even greater performance and a Flachbau look, combined with a rear wing à la 911 GT3 R rennsport, please,” the brand quoted as the specifications set by the Porsche enthusiast, who had his like-new 911 GT2 RS transformed into a factory one-off.
The factory one-off car is painted in Porsche’s Grand Prix White, a color introduced for the 911 in 1974. The color is contrasted by black elements, including eye-catching stripes on the bonnet and roof that are inverted compared to the standard GT2 RS model.

To enhance aerodynamics and ensure uncompromising performance, it is equipped with a front splitter, a new rear wing with S-shaped mounts inspired by that of the 911 GT3 R rennsport (Type 992), a rear diffuser, and carbon-fiber aerodiscs.
Inside, new elements include ‘Flachbau RS’ lettering embroidered on the headrests of the bucket seats, while the dashboard on the passenger side is adorned with a gold-colored badge featuring ‘Sonderwunsch’ lettering and the inscription ‘Factory One-Off 2026 | Flachbau RS’ engraved on a plate.

This conversion took a multidisciplinary team from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch department, Style Porsche, and development engineers from Weissach, Porsche Motorsport**,** and Manthey almost three years to complete.
“Converting the car to a slant-nose model proved to be very challenging, even though we left the drive unchanged, in agreement with the customer,” explains Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Product Offering & Individualisation at Porsche.
