AirConsole In Gaming Feature Now Available On BMW iX And i4

BMW announced that AirConsole, its solution for in-car gaming developed in record time, is now available on iX and i4 vehicles manufactured from July onwards. Through its Startup Garage, an initiative that “promotes the integration of state-of-the-art startup technologies throughout the entire organization”, BMW worked together with N-Dream to bring that company’s AirConsole solution to its models.
BMW “supports startups with the concentrated expertise of an international automotive group and, in return, gets quick access to new ideas” such as this one.
When it arrives for customers, the new i5 will also have AirConsole built-in, while the iX units produced from March to June this year will get it via a Remote Software Upgrade to the BMW Operating System 8.5 “at a later date”.
The AirConsole integration lets you play games on your BMW’s main infotainment screen during breaks (obviously not while driving), and the cool thing is that you can use your smartphone as the controller.
