Anthony Joshua injured in fatal road crash in Nigeria that claimed two lives, FRSC blames overspeeding.
FRSC says that the vehicle Joshua was traveling in, a Lexus SUV, collided with a stationary truck.

British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a car crash earlier today along Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State after the Lexus SUV conveying him collided with a stationary truck.
Photos and videos online shows the aftermath of the crash. Joshua, who reportedly sustained only minor injuries during the crash, was evacuated from the wreckage for medical attention.
Preliminary investigation by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reveals that the vehicle Joshua was traveling in, a black Lexus SUV with the license plate KRD 850 HN, collided with a stationary truck after losing control during an overtaking manoeuvre.

“Preliminary findings indicate that the Lexus Jeep, which was suspected to be travelling beyond the legally prescribed speed limit on the corridor, lost control during an overtaking manoeuvre and crashed into a stationary truck well packed by the side of the road.”
“The primary causes of the crash being excessive speed and wrongful overtaking constitute serious traffic violations and remain among the leading causes of fatal road crashes on Nigerian highways.”

“A total of five adult males were involved in the crash. Two persons sadly lost their lives, one sustained injuries, while two others escaped unhurt. Anthony Joshua was rescued alive and sustained minor injuries.”
It comes over a week after the 36 year old British boxer knocked YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul out in the sixth round on December 19, with the American later confirming on X he had suffered a “double broken jaw” in loss.
