BMW 4-Series And M4 Production To Continue Up To 2029

BMW’s current lineup of the 4 Series and M4 could enjoy an extended presence in the automotive market, surpassing expectations. These sleek and powerful vehicles, known for their striking design and exhilarating performance, may remain a captivating choice for enthusiasts longer than originally anticipated.

As BMWblog writes, according to well-known insider Ynguldyn, the production of the G22 Coupe 4 Series, G23 Cabriolet 4 Series, G82 Coupe M4, and G83 Cabriolet M4 could be extended until mid-2029. The rumor is based on BMW model data, not human sources, which means it could still change, but it points to BMW keeping its petrol-powered Coupe and Cabrio alive until the end of the decade.

The updated data also shows that the G87 M2 will remain on the market until July 2029, meaning BMW will have two G8x M Coupes—the M2 and M4—on sale for at least the next four years. It’s unusual but makes sense in the context of BMW’s flexible strategy and is great news for the “internal combustion engine” community.

The company was initially rumored to have no immediate successor to the ICE 4 Series or M4 (a claim never confirmed by BMW), but as we can see again, the flexible CLAR platform allows them to continue to produce and refresh these cars without developing an entirely new chassis.
