BMW Is Recalling More Than 720,000 Vehicles Over Water Pump Issues In The US
German automaker BMW is recalling more than 720,000 vehicles in the US due to water pump problems, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday.
“Approximately 62,954 vehicles were produced with a water pump that, due to imprecise and insufficient sealing – that is, parts not well connected, could be susceptible to liquid penetration into the electrical plug connector over time,” NHTSA wrote in a statement, reports Anadolu Agency.
The issue affects 720,796 potential X1 sDrive28i and XDrive28i vehicles, manufactured between 2012 and 2015, according to NHTSA.
In early July, BMW reported weak results for the first half of 2024, with total sales of 1.2 million vehicles across all regions.
