BMW Sells Fewer New Cars In The First Three Quarters Of 2024 Than 2023
The BMW Group’s car brands delivered fewer new cars in the first nine months of this year than in the same period last year. However, significantly more electric cars were delivered in the first three quarters of 2024 than in 2023.
Car brands BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce delivered a total of 1,754,158 new cars in the first nine months of this year. That was 4.5 percent fewer than in the same period last year. BMW saw its deliveries decrease by 2.3 percent to 1,583,485 cars. Mini even delivered 21 percent fewer cars than in the first nine months of 2023, with 166,703 cars. Rolls-Royce also dipped and delivered 3,970 cars this year, 12.8 percent fewer than last year’s first three quarters. Despite the negligible decline in the number of deliveries, the BMW Group brands delivered more electric cars.
BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce delivered 294,054 new electric cars in the first nine months of this year, 19.1 percent more than in the same period last year. Of those, 266,151 were BMWs, which in turn was 22.6 percent more than in the first nine months of 2023. According to BMW, the iX1 and i4 are its international electric sales hits.
