Bugatti Unveils One-off Chiron Profilée, A Special Edition Car That Never Made It To Production - autojosh

Bugatti unveils an exclusive one-off Chiron Profilée, a special edition Chiron-based car that never made it to production.

The Bugatti Chiron Profilée is originally planned to be positioned between the Chiron Sport and Chiron Pur Sport.

But it never made it into production as all 500 slots reserved for Chiron had been sold before its development was completed.

Chiron Profilée will be auctioned on 1 Feb. 2023, with a percentage of the proceeds going to benefit charitable causes.

French Hypercar maker Bugatti has unveiled an exclusive one-of-one Chiron Profilée, a Chiron-based model that was originally planned to be positioned between the Chiron Sport and the Chiron Pur Sport.

The idea to create the Chiron Profilée was born as customers expressed an interest in a car that was slightly “less radical” than the Chiron Pur Sport, utilising its extraordinary acceleration and handling while injecting more of a touring personality.

But the Chiron Profilée never made it into production as all 500 build slots for the limited-allocation Bugatti Chiron had sold out faster than expected before its development was completed.

Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said:

“Taking customer wishes to explore a less radical version of the Pur Sport seriously into consideration, we started with the design and development of the Chiron Profilée in Autumn 2020. By the time we saw the pre-series vehicle coming out of production, all Chiron slots limited to just 500 were assigned for.”

Since the car was too beautiful to be forgotten or stored in a museum, Bugatti decided to finalize the Profilée’s development, thus creating this single bespoke-engineered version of the Bugatti Chiron hyper sports car.

“But we knew that what we had created was too beautiful to be hidden away. It is – in every sense – a unique piece in Bugatti’s history and a true collector’s item. And we wanted to give a fair chance to any devotee of the Bugatti brand to acquire this unique car, so we decided to partner with RM Sotheby’s to auction it.”

On the outside, the Profilée is finished in an exclusive Argent Atlantique. At the front, the Profilée gets a wider air inlets and an enlarged Bugatti horseshoe grille to help funnel more cooling air into the radiators.

Inside, the Profilée features the typical Chiron instrument cluster of three compact displays, a steering wheel wrapped in deep blue leather and for the first time in any Chiron model, a woven leather finish is achieved across the center console, around the dashboard, the door panels, and rear wall inlay.

Profilée is powered by Bugatti’s 1,500 horsepower 8.0-liter W16 engine, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds and up to a top speed of 380 km/h, compared with the Chiron Pur Sport’s 350 km/h.

Now Bugatti is offering this Chiron-based automotive solitaire at auction RM Sotheby’s on 1 February 2023 to give all Bugatti owners and those who want to become one the same fair chance to acquire it.

The Bugatti Chiron Profilée will be auctioned by auction house, RM Sotheby’s on 1 February, 2023, with a percentage of the proceeds going to benefit charitable causes.
