Buyers Must Agree Not To Sell Their Toyota Land Cruiser 300 To Avoid Falling Into Terrorists Hands
Buyers must agree not to sell their new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series SUV to avoid falling into the hands of terrorists.
Toyota has reportedly received more than 22,000 pre-orders for the new 2022 Land Cruiser 300 Series SUV.
To date, Japanese automaker has no idea where terrorist group, ISIS, got its Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser SUVs.
Japanese automaker Toyota has received more than 22,000 pre-orders for the 2022 Land Cruiser 300 Series since the latest generation of the SUV debuted few months ago.
Now, according Japanese website Creative311, Toyota is putting measures in place to stop these vehicles from being resold to curb the risk of being used for illegal purposes. This move is aimed at preventing the SUV from ending up in the hands of terror groups across the globe.
Creative311 reports that buyers must agree to a pledge that forbids the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series SUV from being resold or exported for an undisclosed length of the period.
Parts of the statement says that “because there is a risk of violating foreign exchange law, and depending on the export destination, it may lead to major problems that threaten global security.”
This measure comes amid previous reports of terrorist organizations in Africa and Middle East using Toyotas like Hilux pickup and Land Cruiser SUV. There vehicles are preferred by the terrorists groups due to their reliability on warfronts.
To date, Toyota has no idea where terrorist group, ISIS, got its pickup trucks and SUVs. The world’s second largest auto maker maintains it has no business dealings with the terror group.
The Japanese manufacturer is “supporting” the inquiry led by U.S. counter-terror officials that has been on since 2015.
So, Toyota’s pledge to ensure Western-made goods from ending up in the hands of the terror groups is the reason for this latest development.
