Caterpillar’s first-ever pickup truck blends heavy-duty truck capability with CAT’s latest jobsite technologies. 

One-off project born from a viral AI-generated Cat-branded truck in 2024, which sparked inquiries from its customers.

Concept integrates Cat’s jobsite AI assistant, roof-mounted autonomous drone station and safety monitoring systems.

Rides on mud-terrain tyres while power comes from the base F-450’s 6.7-liter V8 Turbo Diesel engine, which offers up to 500-hp.

Last month, the Caterpillar Inc., known for producing heavy machinery and construction equipments, stormed the ConExpo-Con/Agg, North America’s largest construction trade show, with its first-ever pickup truck.

According to company, the project – which blends heavy-duty truck capability with CAT’s latest jobsite tech – was born from a viral AI-generated Caterpillar-branded pickup truck in 2024, which sparked thousands of inquiries from its customers.

“Here’s what makes it different : this isn’t a truck we built to prove we could. It’s a truck we built because we listened to what you actually need,” the company’s release stated.

While not planned for production, the one-off concept integrates Caterpillar’s jobsite technology, including an AI assistant, roof-mounted autonomous drone station for site inspections and safety monitoring systems.

Finished in CAT’s signature yellow accents, the F-450 Super Duty-based concept features Cat badging on the grill and tailgate as well as a lined bed with a headache rack.

It rides mud-terrain tyres while power comes from the base Ford F-450’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine, which offers up to 500 horsepower and a massive 1,200 lb-ft of torque in High Output (HO) trim.
