Changan CS55 SUV, marketed and assembled in Nigeria by Mikano Motors Nigeria, clinched the car-of-the-year award at this year’s 2024 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) awards.
The CS55, a Compact Crossover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), edged out Toyota Corolla and Kia Rio, who are past winners of the Nigeria’s car-of-the-year prize, to win the coveted award.

Produced by Changan Automobile since 2017, the locally-assembled Changan CS55 Crossover SUV is known for its modern design, advanced technology, and powerful performance.
Inside, the 5-door SUV features 12.3-inch Touch Display Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay, driving recorder, 360-degree panoramic camera and voice control as well as wide panoramic roof.
Safety features include Anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), hill hold control (HHC), hill descent control (HDC), driver and passenger airbags, front side airbags, and lane departure warning (LDW).
Changan CS55 powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine, producing 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. It has a fuel economy of 27 mpg City and 31 mpg Highway.
