Tesla Again Increased The Price Of The Cybertruck Despite Poor Sales
Tesla is defying market logic by raising Cybertruck prices by $5,000 despite sluggish sales, marking a sharp increase for the Dual Motor and Premium AWD models.
The company has hiked Cybertruck prices by $5,000, raising the Dual Motor AWD to $74,990 and the Premium AWD to $84,990, with no changes to vehicle specifications. The Dual Motor retains its 325-mile range and 7,500-lb towing capacity, while the Premium model retains its 593 hp and 11,000-lb towing capacity.
Despite Musk’s projections of 250,000 annual sales, Cybertruck demand is faltering. Cox Automotive reports U.S. sales dropped 48% in 2025 and another 45% in Q1 2026. Meanwhile, Tesla continues to hike prices, with the Dual Motor AWD model jumping $15,000 in just months to reach $74,990, following the 2025 discontinuation of the entry-level single-motor trim.
The flagship Cyberbeast remains at $99,990, narrowing the price gap with the Premium AWD model to $15,000. As Tesla pivots toward Optimus and robotaxis, the struggling Cybertruck appears to be fading, highlighting the limitations of even Musk’s ventures.
Tesla’s decision to implement a $5,000 price increase may be a strategic effort to offset rising production costs, reflecting a calculated assumption that demand will remain stable. Alternatively, this move could be viewed as another unorthodox experiment by Elon Musk, testing market resilience despite the vehicle’s recent performance challenges.
