China’s Xpeng G9 electric flagship SUV debut, add 124 miles of range in 5-minutes, could soon be sold in Nigeria.

G9 SUV come in three series, each with an driving ranges of 570 km (354 miles), 650 km (404 miles) or 702 km (436 miles).

Described as ‘the world’s fastest-charging mass-production SUV’, thanks to its new 800-volt electrical architecture system.

It will be able to charge very fast — from 10% to 80% in as little as 15 minutes or 124 miles/200 km in just 5 minutes).





Like other China’s auto brands, the Xpeng G9 Electric SUV could reach a Nigerian dealership in the nearest future.

Chinese electric-vehicle maker XPeng Inc. on Wednesday launched the G9 flagship SUV, the fourth production vehicle in its lineup, that it said will set a “new benchmark” for automated driving technology in passenger vehicles.

“We believe [the G9] will become the new benchmark for smart EVs, representing the last step before the realization of truly autonomous vehicles,” said He Xiaopeng, CEO and chairman of XPeng, during G9’s online launch event.





He Xiaopeng, who describes the G9 as ‘the world’s fastest-charging mass-production SUV’ adds:

“This is topped off with a dual-chamber air suspension system and a luxurious smart cabin that includes a ground-breaking 5D music experience we call Xopera.

“G9 is a fusion of many technical innovations woven together into an elegant design and marks a significant milestone after eight years of dedication.”

G9 will come with XPeng’s first generation ADAS, Xpilot, which includes functions like valet parking assist as well as Highway NGP, which enables navigation-assisted automatic driving from point A to point B on highways.

The highest-end versions of the G9 will come standard with Nvidia’s Drive Orin chips and rely on 31 sensors, including a front-view camera and dual lidar sensors.

The G9 SUV will come in three series, each with an estimated driving ranges of 570 kilometers (354 miles), 650 km (404 miles) or 702 km (436 miles), depending on the variant.

Thanks to a new 800-volt electrical architecture system, XPeng said that the G9 will be able to charge very fast — from 10% to 80% in as little as 15 minutes or 124 miles/200 km in 5 minutes) — on its growing network of 480 kW supercharging stations.

The company, which has 1,000 charging locations throughout China, said it aims to add another 500 supercharging stations by 2023 and have a total of 2,000 sites across the country by 2025.

XPeng expects its new G9 sports utility vehicle to Spur its growth after a challenging period that’s seen its share price slump 72% since the start of the year.

“With the G9, we start launching products in the next few quarters, probably at least one product per quarter, and that is going to be the main catalyst for our new growth,” XPeng President Brian Gu said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on Thursday.

Prices of the Xpeng G9 Electric SUV ranges from ¥309,900 to ¥469,900 (approx £39,000 to £59,000). The company said first deliveries are scheduled for October. Like other China’s auto brands, the Xpeng G9 Electric SUV could reach a Nigerian dealership in the nearest future.
