The all-new, first-ever 2024 Lexus TX 3-row SUV has finally made its debut, joining Toyota luxury brand’s growing lineup that already includes the bigger LX and GX as well as the RX model.
Specifically made for the North American market (United States of America and Canada), the all-new 2024 TX will be offered in four grades : Standard, Premium, Luxury and F SPORT Performance.
“It’s only human to want the best seat in the house. And it’s only Lexus to make every seat the best seat,” said Dejuan Ross, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division.
“This is a pivotal moment for our brand, creating an elegant and indulgent vehicle experience for every single passenger. TX prioritizes comfort in every row and embodies our steadfast commitment to electrification, technology, performance and design.”
The Standard, Premium and Luxury grades comes with 20-inch wheels while the 500h F SPORT Performance rides on standard 22-inch wheels that sport an exclusive design. Also available for the TX 350 Luxury grade, the 22-inch wheels come standard on the 550h+.
Built upon the underpinnings of the recently Toyota Grand Highlander 3-row SUV, the TX adopts Lexus’ current design language and adds eye-catching and unique design elements.
The front fascia of TX is dominated by the new “Unified Spindle” grille, which incorporates Lexus early design language, while the back has a slim signature L-shaped light bar lamp.
Inside, the driver-focused cockpit design has 12.3-inch multi-information display. It comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are controlled via the Lexus interface system found on the 14-inch touchscreen.
Three powertrains will be offered, including a 275-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine found in the base TX 350, while a more powerful 366-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter engine but offers powers the TX 500h.
The range-topping plug-in hybrid TX550h+ uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an electric motor to deliver 406 hp to all four wheels via a CVT gearbox, which also allows an all-electric range of 33 miles.
Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the TX will be exclusively assembled by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana (TMMI), making it the first Lexus vehicle to be assembled there.
