Ford Yet Again Recall Almost 700,000 Vehicles In The United States
Ford Motor is recalling 694,271 vehicles in the United States due to a potentially hazardous fuel injector defect that can cause fuel leaks and fires in the engine compartment, according to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The problem with injector cracks was first identified back in March 2024, when Ford had already recalled 42,000 cars and recommended installing a drainage system and updating the engine management software.
The parts, however, were not changed, and a subsequent audit by NHTSA showed that those measures did not eliminate the root cause of the problem, the Trading View portal reports.
In July 2025, during an additional inspection, Ford discovered that eight vehicles that caught fire still had cracked injectors, even though those vehicles had previously been serviced. In six cases, the engine software was not updated despite the manufacturer’s recommendations.
The new recall also includes cars that were already inspected, as well as additional models with 1.5-litre engines and the corresponding software version.
Among them are the Ford “Bronco Sport” models produced from 2021 to 2024 and the “Escape” from 2020 to 2022.
