French Police Cracking Down On Car Drifting On Public Roads, Crushes Two BMWs
French Police now cracking down on car drifting and other forms of dangerous driving on public roads.
Crushes two seized BMW cars filmed street drifting on public roads in the northern part of the country.
Police shared the video as a warning, adding that “justice requires the destruction of vehicles”.
The crushing of vehicles is part of the strict laws introduced in 2018 to crackdown on “stunt driving”.
Punishment for violators also includes three years in prison and a fine of up to 75 thousand euros.

Authorities in France has began cracking down on car drifting and stunt driving on public roads by posting a video of two seized BMW 3 Series being crushed by a junkyard crusher.
The crushed cars, a E36 BMW 3 Series coupe and an E46 sedan, were seized by police after being filmed street drifting on public roads in Tourville-la-Rivière in the northern part of the country.

French national police shared a video as a warning against drivers who would emulate these behaviors, adding that “justice requires the destruction of vehicles”.
One of drivers of the crushed BMWs, who is now crowdfunding a legal defense, said he had no way to defend himself in court before his car was “crushed” with all of his belongings in it.


The crushing of vehicles is part of the strict laws introduced in 2018 to crackdown on “stunt driving”, a punishment that also includes three years in prison and a fine of up to 75 thousand euros.
The new legislation was introduced by authorities after French police reported a 1,400% increase in dangerous driving cases across the country.
