Fully-loaded Kia PV5 Cargo EV Drives 693-km On A Single Charge, Sets Guinness World Records Title
Fully-loaded Kia PV5 Cargo EV travels 693-km on a single charge to set new Guinness World Records title.
PV5 Cargo Long Range 4-door variant was fitted with 71.2 kWh battery during the record 22-hour, 30-minute journey.
During the drive, PV5 Cargo faced typical city traffic, completed 58.2 km-long loop 12 times while carrying its full payload.

Kia’s PV5 Cargo electric van has sets a new Guinness World Record for electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) after travelling 693.38 km (430.84 miles) on a single charge while carrying a full 665kg payload.
Fitted with 71.2 kWh battery, the PV5 Cargo Long Range 4-door variant took the record-breaking drive on 30 September 2025 in real-world conditions on public roads in Frankfurt, Germany.

The South Korean brand said that the record route, featuring over a 58.2 km (36-mile) urban and extra-urban loop, was designed to replicate the daily realities of delivery and logistics operations.
During the drive, the PV5 Cargo not only faced traffic lights, intersections, roundabouts, and typical city traffic but also completed the loop 12 times while carrying its full payload.

“I’m genuinely excited to have been part of this incredible GUINNESS WORLD RECORD title – it was a demanding but unforgettable journey,” said George Barrow, who was at the wheel of the record-setting PV5.
“I was seriously impressed by how far the Kia PV5 can go: more than 690 km on a single charge and with a full payload.
The PV5 Cargo variant offers up to 4.4 m3 of load space and a payload capacity of up to 790 kg. It is also available in several battery options — 51.5 kWh, 71.2 kWh and a forthcoming 43.3 kWh — tailored to their operational needs.

Christopher Nigemeier, a senior engineer at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC), who was part of the record 22-hour, 30-minute journey added that :
“George brought an incredible amount of driving experience from testing other vans, while I had the advantage of knowing the PV5’s powertrain inside out. It became a friendly competition between us — who could squeeze the most out of each kilowatt-hour. In the end, it was the vehicle itself that impressed us both.”
