JLR UK Says Customer Reaction To New Range Rover Is ‘Outstanding’, SUV Sold Out For 12 Months
Jaguar Land Rover sales chief says customer reaction to new Range Rover is ‘outstanding’.
He said that the order book is bulging, adding that the New Range Rover is sold out for 12 months.
He also said that the new Range Rover ‘Autobiography’ trim is the favourite specification.
Jaguar Land Rover UK sales director Paddy McGillycuddy says anyone ordering the new Range Rover now will have to wait 12 months before they can take delivery as order book keeps bulging.
UK customer reaction to Jaguar Land Rover’s new Range Rover SUV, which was unveiled in October last year, has been described by the JLR boss as ‘outstanding’.
In a video interview with CoventryLive at the UK launch event last week, Mr McGillycuddy offered an insight into the model’s progress so far.
He said:
“It’s fantastic and exciting for all of us, for all our teams, all our network partners. This is the fifth generation Range Rover so it has been around for close to 50 years. Just to have the privilege of bringing the fifth generation to market is an absolute honour.
“And the customer reaction to new Range Rover has been absolutely outstanding. The testament is the number of orders.
“We have seen 10,000 in the UK market so we are sold out well over 12 months. If someone came in today there would probably be a 12-month lead time for a new Range Rover order.”
Mr McGillycuddy also revealed that the flagship ‘Autobiography’ is the favourite specification, adding that the average order value is about £125,000.
He added:
“We have seen a great reaction. Autobiography is the most popular trim and there is 25 per cent take up on plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) models.
“The average order value is about £125,000, significantly up on the prior model and people are making sure they choose the right car for their own needs.”
The new Range Rover SUV will be available in SE, HSE, Autobiography, and SV Autobiography trim levels, as well as a First Edition version of the Autobiography that gets the Sunset Gold Satin exterior color.
