Lagos First Lady Took 230 Boys On Industrial Tour, Rode In Blue Line Train From Marina To Alaba Station
Lagos State first lady, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, took 230 boys on an industrial tour in Alaba.
She rode in Blue Line Train from Marina to Alaba Station, before joining a bus to a recycling plant in Alaba.
Gov. Sanwo-Olu had on Sept. 4th 2023 flagged off the commercial operations of the first phase of the Blue Line.
The first phase of the Blue Line covers five stations at Mile 2, Suru-Alaba, Orile Iganmu, National Theatre and Marina.
Lagos State first lady, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday June 11th (today) took 230 boys under pet project, The Lagos Boy Child Initiative, on an industrial tour using the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu rode with the boys from Marina Station to Alaba Train station before joining a bus to ALKEM, a recycling plant in Alaba area off the Lagos Badagry Expressway.
The first lady also used the visit to the Marina Station to educate the boys on the use of the train station, enjoining them to always stand behind the yellow line to wait for the train.
Launched in October 2021, the governor’s wife had explained that the Lagos Boy Child Initiative “aims to lead conversations about the welfare and interests of our boys. The limelight had always been on the girlchild, and we felt it was also appropriate and important to look in the direction of our boys.”

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on September 4th 2023 flagged off the commercial operations of the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line (Marina – Mile 2).
The first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line, from Marina to Mile 2, covers five stations at Mile 2, Suru-Alaba, Orile Iganmu, National Theatre and Marina. The journey lasts about 28 minutes, including 90-second stop at each station.
