Mercedes-AMG Disputes Reports That The C63 V8 Engine Will Return

Mercedes-AMG spokeswoman Catrin Dunz-Ludwig has firmly confirmed that the AMG C63 will not include a V8 engine.
Contrary to previous reports that suggested there was hope, Mercedes-AMG has no plans to abandon its current setup. Other AMG models will continue to run on the new V8, but it remains unclear what the company has in store for the updated C 63.
Despite increasingly stringent emissions regulations, Mercedes last week promised to keep the V8 in its portfolio. Even the S-Class will keep its V12 in certain markets. The eight-cylinder engine has been adapted to meet the Euro 7 standard, so its future is secure. Meanwhile, AMG has “the next generation of high-tech electrified V8 engines” on the horizon.
The new V8 could debut later this year in the CLE 63. Communications expert Catrin Dunz-Ludwig was only willing to confirm the new V8’s creation. She told the British news outlet: “We can confirm that AMG is developing a new V8 engine. However, we ask for your understanding that we do not comment on the detailed launch schedule.”
