Mercedes-Benz Bids The G500 Farewell In The Form Of A Final Edition Model

Mercedes-Benz has showcased the Final Edition version of the G500 with a V8 engine for the global markets. The special edition SUV is available in Obsidian Black, Opalith White Magno, and Olive Magno color schemes, each limited to 500 units.
The 500 GE debuted in 1993, ensuring the boxy 4×4 would forever be associated with the soundtrack of a howling V8. Only 446 were built between 1993 and 1994, making the older car even more exclusive.
“The Final Edition is our 30th birthday gift for the G500, which in 1993 was considered the trendsetter and harbinger of the high-end off-roader in the luxury class,” says Dr. Emmerich Schiller, head of the Off-Road Vehicle Division at Mercedes-Benz.
The Mercedes-Benz G500 Final Edition is on 20-inch light alloy with five double spokes. If you choose the G500 Final Edition in the colors Obsidian Black or Opalite Mano, the wheels are finished in glossy black. Mercedes-Benz naturally gives the G500 Final Edition a set of Final Edition badges, including on the side moldings and on the spare wheel holder. The G logo and the text ‘Stronger than time’ are projected onto the ground from the door mirrors when the car is stationary. The ring of the spare wheel holder is finished in shiny chrome and you will also find this shiny finish in the bumpers, among other things. In addition, illuminated Final Edition door sills and a custom key, the Superior Line package with Burmester audio, special Manufaktur Nappa leather interior trim that matches the color of the car is part of the Final Edition party.
Inside, the Mercedes-Benz G 500 V8 Final Edition has a rugged-looking yet luxurious five-seater cabin with a minimalist dual-tone dashboard and premium leather upholstery. It gets an electric sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, a wireless charger, multi-zone climate control with an air purifier, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a large MBUX infotainment panel. Passengers’ safety is ensured by multiple airbags and ADAS functions.
The Mercedes-Benz G 500 V8 Final Edition is backed by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged, V8 engine that develops 416hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 610Nm. The motor is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox with three electronic locking differentials and a four-wheel-drive system.
