Beijing IONCHI New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture between BMW Brilliance and Mercedes-Benz Group China, has officially launched its supercharging brand, alongside the opening of its first seven charging stations.

The first seven charging stations, which are opened to the broader public, are located in Beijing, Qingdao in Shandong province, and Nanjing in Jiangsu province.

But intended customers of BMW Group and Mercedes Group will be able to enjoy a series of exclusive features, such as plug and charge and online reservation for a seamless digital experience.

In one of the photos provided to China Daily, the brand’s flagship BMW i7 sedan and a Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV were seen at one of IONCHI’s first charging stations in Beijing.

BMW Brilliance and Mercedes-Benz Group China Ltd. first announced plans to establish a 50:50 joint venture in China last November to provide Chinese customers with premium charging services.

The joint venture aims to establish a network of at least 1,000 high-power charging stations with around 7,000 high-power charging piles by the end of 2026, adopting state-of-the-art charging technologies.
