More Than 500,000 Volkswagen And Porsche Vehicles Has Been Recalled

Volkswagen and its luxury subsidiary Porsche have announced a total recall of more than 500,000 vehicles in the United States due to a software problem that can prevent the rear camera from properly displaying images, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said.

According to the regulator, the American Volkswagen group, including the Audi brand, will have to recall 356,649 vehicles due to the mentioned software error, reports Reuters.

It concerns certain models of this brand produced in the period from 2019 to 2026, and authorized services will update the software for free.

 This measure follows last week’s decision by Porsche, which announced the recall of 173,538 vehicles in the United States of America for the same reason.

It is one of the largest single safety recalls conducted by Porsche’s North American subsidiary in recent years.

NHTSA recalled that last year, manufacturers such as Hyundai, Ford, Toyota, and Chrysler were forced to recall vehicles for repairs due to similar problems with rear cameras to reduce the risk of traffic accidents.
