One-off Bugatti W16 Mistral ‘Le Retour du Jeune Prince’ (The Return of the Young Prince) is an personal tribute inspired by storybook. 

Bugatti has debuted the all-new W16 Mistral ‘Le Retour du Jeune Prince’ (The Return of the Young Prince), a one-off roadster born from both the customer’s own story and created by teams at Bugatti’s Sur Mesure program.

Commissioned by a discerning Bugatti collector, the Bugatti W16 Mistral ‘Le Retour du Jeune Prince’ is shaped around earth, moonlight, stars and inspired by a storybook written by the customer.

The W16 Mistral ‘Le Retour du Jeune Prince’ is finished in copper and bronze hues – an earth tones and metallic finish meant to give the car the feeling of lunar (moon) light with a sense of richness and wonder.

Also, the outline of the Bugatti Macaron on the grille is finished in gold while the brake calipers are finished in copper with matching ‘EB’ emblems at the center of each wheel.

Highlight inside includes the embroidered moon on the door panels with stitched star motifs upon and around it, plus a 3-D scanned intricate silver rose inside the gear shifter that is encased like a rare piece of high jewelry.

“The W16 Mistral ‘Le Retour du Jeune Prince’ is a beautiful example of what Sur Mesure can achieve when a customer’s personal story is placed at the heart of the creative process,” said Jascha Straub, Manager of Sur Mesure and Individualization.

Still powering the one-off Bugatti W16 Mistral ‘Le Retour du Jeune Prince’ is the brand’s now discontinued 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 that makes a massive 1,600 PS (1,578 horsepower) and 1,600 Nm of torque.

This powertrain propels the Mistral to an official limited top speed of 420 km/h (261 mph) and a record-breaking top-speed of 453.91 km/h (282 mph) – making it the fastest open-top car in the world.
