Ford CEO Jim Farley earned 6.1 percent less in 2024 than last year. His income, partly built up from bonuses, is considerably lower than that of outgoing Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

According to a document found by Autonews.com, the 6.1 percent drop in income is due to Farley’s failure to meet several goals. For example, it failed to meet Ford’s 2025 quality goals and cost reduction goals. However, there are also disadvantages. Farley is praised for the talent he brought to Ford, there are “solid” financial results, and a lot of savings were indeed made despite not meeting the goals.

It will come as no surprise that Farley does not have to look to private labels for his weekly groceries despite the drop in income. The top boss at Ford earned the equivalent of 22.89 million euros in 2024, the vast majority of which was in bonuses. The fixed salary was ‘only’ 1.56 million; the rest is on top of that. Farley does have to tolerate departing Stellantis boss Tavares, who walked away with around 35 million euros thanks in part to a nice golden handshake, although in his case, that is of course, for the last time.
