Over 30000 Bookings For The Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Ahead Of Next Month Release

The much-awaited Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door variant now finally has a launch date (June 7th) and in addition, it has received over 30,000 bookings in India alone since the opening began in January 2023.

All versions of the Jimny available in India come with the same 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 103 hp and 99 lb-ft (134 Nm) of torque. Customers can choose to have this engine coupled to either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic with a torque converter.

Two trim levels of the Jimny are being offered to Indian customers. Sitting at the base of the range is the Zeta while positioned above it is the Alpha. While the full list of standard features of both models has not yet been released, local media reports that the Alpha includes automatic LED headlights, a 9-inch infotainment screen with Suzuki’s SmartPlay Pro+ system, cruise control, and a sound system from Arkamys. It also gets six airbags, ESP with a hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, a rear-view camera, and ABS.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny tips the weighing scale between 1,195 kg and 1,210 kg. The Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4WD system comes as standard with low-range transfer gear. The fuel tank capacity stands at 40 liters. The Jimny has an overall length (including spare wheel with cover) of 3,985 mm, a width of 1,645 mm, and a height of 1,720 mm with a wheelbase length of 2,590 mm. The new Jimny will be based on a ladder frame chassis while it will also receive ALLGRIP PRO 4WD technology as standard so as to enhance its off-road performance.
