How The Price Of The Suzuki Jimny Surged…
The Suzuki Jimny is no longer sold in the European market, but the car has cult status.
Due to strict European environmental regulations, Suzuki officially discontinued sales of the passenger Jimny in 2021. After that, it was sold exclusively as a commercial vehicle (N1 category) with two seats and a partition net. But that sales channel has also stopped. The new car costs about 23 thousand euros. Today, new Jimnys can be found in Europe from gray importers, who purchase vehicles from India or Japan and homologate them individually. The prices of such vehicles go up to 40,000 euros, which is still too much for a miniature SUV.
Interestingly, however, the Jimny is a profitable commodity in the used vehicle market. In some EU markets (such as Croatia), it is possible to find several Jimnys that are more expensive than 30,000 euros, from 2024 and 2023, and even with 30,000 kilometres or more.
One Jimny 1.5 GL is sold for 29,000 euros, year 2023, with 27,000 km. A German seller offers one four-seater all-wheel-drive model with 43,200 km. The car is a 2019 model year, and the asking price is 34,790 euros.
