McLaren 720S To Be Discontiued Next Year Marking The End Of An Era
The era of the McLaren 750S is ending. After a nearly decade-long run starting with the 720S, production of this iconic supercar will conclude in 2027, with final orders now being accepted.
Although the conclusion was anticipated, McLaren has officially confirmed that production of the 750S will cease in 2027. The company is currently accepting final orders, marking the definitive end for one of its most successful modern supercars.
The 750S evolved from the 720S with 30% new components, including a 740-hp twin-turbo V8 and a 2,815-pound dry weight. With refined aerodynamics, suspension, and a driver-focused cabin, it stands as the pinnacle of a lineage that includes the 765LT and 788HS.
As McLaren Chief Commercial Officer Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer puts it:
‘The 750S represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar: benchmark performance, thrilling driver engagement, technical innovation, expressive design, and defined personalization. It will leave behind an extraordinary legacy.’
The sunset of the 750S coincides with a period of significant strategic transformation for McLaren. Following the introduction of a new brand identity, the manufacturer is poised to diversify its portfolio, with reports indicating the development of a super-SUV intended to compete with vehicles such as the Ferrari Purosangue.
The 750S is not the only model facing a transition; reports suggest that the hybrid Artura may also be nearing the conclusion of its production cycle, potentially clearing the path for an entirely new generation of McLaren vehicles.
For the present, the 750S receives a final production run. Final orders are currently being accepted, though availability is limited. With production scheduled to conclude in 2027, this marks the definitive end for one of the most significant supercar platforms in McLaren’s history.
