Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing a 2008 model Range Rover SUV in United Estate Shangotedo, Ajah, in Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro reports that the suspects, 20-year-old Chidera Ozemina and 32-year-old Micheal Chukwu, also made away with the car’s documents stolen from the owner’s apartment.

Speaking on the incident, the unmanned owner of the Range Rover said his SUV was stolen from the premises after his visit to Ladipo Spare Parts Market.

“At about 4:55 pm on Wednesday, I noticed the car was not where I parked it when I returned from Ladipo Spare Parts Market just as I discovered that they had also burgled the apartment. I searched the house carefully and I figured that they had taken the car keys.

“They did not just stop there, they took the car papers. I was shocked because I thought most thieves would just take the keys and go but these people took the papers of the car. I reported to the police immediately, thankfully, the car was recovered by the police today.”

A resident, Emmanuel, said :

“They must have been monitoring the car because it is a Range Rover SUV 2008 model and I hope it is not somebody who knows him that leaked the information or it might be that those thieves had been spying on him for a while.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to Punch correspondent on the telephone, stating that the “vehicle has been recovered from the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.”
