But some online users pointed out that the Tesla Model X didn’t run out of juice, but had a tyre issue.
The Tesla Model X comes standard with a battery-pack large enough to cover a claimed 351-mile driving range.
But upgrading to the faster Plaid model – the highest performing SUV ever – drops the estimated driving range to 335 miles.
Reactions as car carrier rescues Tesla Model X on the Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge after the all-electric Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) reportedly ran out of battery juice.
Sharing photos of the all-electric SUV on the flat bed of the rescue truck, a tweeter user wrote :
“Tesla battery don weak ontop 3rd Mainland bridge
E be like na to carry power bank dey drive now”
Reacting to the post, some users vowed never to buy electric cars due to the limited range they currently offer. Other users pointed out it might not be battery issue, with some saying it was tyre issue.
Low range peculiar to Electric Vehicles (EVs) as well epileptic power supplies are some of the factors that have barred Nigerians from switching from Internal Combustion Engine-powered cars to the electric counterpart.
