With the competition heating up in the family sedan category, the company has stepped up its game with the refreshed Toyota Camry for 2021. Toyota really upgraded the Camry with the latest tech and for the 1st time an All-Wheel-Drive. No Camry has had AWD before since the 1991 version. Its not just the AWD that is the spotlight, other equipment will be listest in this article and how they improve the car.
Starting from the exterior, there are only minor changes which may not be noticeable but they are there. The grille is slightly different from the LE to XSE models to distinguish them. The interior, on the other hand, has a visible upgrade with the touchscreen now floating up las seen in the RAV4. For the first-time again Toyota fitted the Carplay into the Camry which was lacking before. The security has been upgraded with the new Safety Sense 2.5+ (TSS 2.5+) suite. This new safety feature has an improved pre-collision and pedestrian detection system. It can also detect a preceding cyclist or, in low light, a preceding pedestrian.
The engines still remain the same with a little power bump in the 4-cylinder variant. The 2.5-litre 4-cylinder with outputs varying between 202-206 hp and 182-186 lb-ft of torque depending on the trim. As we are now aware, the AWD is now an optional feature for 4-cylinder engines alone. The 3.5 V6 still retains its 301hp and 267 lb-ft while the hybrid electric motor outputs 208hp (2.5-litre) mated with a CVT gearbox (Hybrid) or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
