Sanwo-Olu Hands Over 250 Patrol Vehicles, Other Equipments To Police To Fortify Lagos (PHOTOS)

The Lagos State Government on Thursday December 19th 2024 fortified the armoury of the Lagos State Police Command with 250 brand new patrol vehicles as well as other essential hardware and communication devices.

The crime fighting gadgets, procured through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), was handed over to the security operatives by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the Lagos State Security Trust Fund’s 18th Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security.





In attendance at the handing over event were the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

LAMATA Honors Top-performing Drivers, Bus Operating Companies In 2024

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) on Sunday December 15th conducted its year-end village meeting with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding bus drivers and operating companies.

At the event, awards were given to top-performing drivers from each of the seven First and Last Mile (FLM) zones, the best drivers from each Bus operating company, and to outstanding bus operating companies.

Speaking at the event, LAMATA’s Managing Director Engr. Mrs Abimbola Akinajo commended the drivers for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing the importance of responsible driving in ensuring the safety and comfort of commuters.

She also warned against misconduct, such as overspeeding and cash collection, highlighting consequences for those who violate these guidelines.

Yuletide : FRSC Deploys 1,102 Operational Vehicles, Radar Guns To Check Speed Violations





To ensure safe travels during the yuletide and beyond, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of its entire workforce for its Special Patrol tagged ‘2024 Operation Zero Tolerance’, which commences on 15 December 2024 through 15 January 2025.

A statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide on Monday December 16th also disclosed the deployment of 157 administrative vehicles, 754 patrol vehicles, 143 ambulances, and 48 tow trucks as well as setting out of 16 traffic control camps on different routes.

The Corps Marshal emphasised that the enforcement is aimed at checkmating Excessive speed, Overloading, Dangerous Driving/Overtaking, Lane indiscipline/Route violation, Road Obstructions, Use of Phone while Driving, Overloading Violation, Seatbelt/Child restraint Use Violations, Passengers’ Manifest Violations, Mechanically Deficient Vehicles, Latching and Twist-Locks Violations.
