LAMATA Honors Top-performing Drivers, Bus Operating Companies In 2024
LAMATA honors top-performing drivers, bus operating companies in 2024 during its year-end village meeting.
Awards were given to top-performing drivers from each of the seven First and Last Mile (FLM) zones.
Best drivers from each Bus operating company and outstanding bus operating companies also received award.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including LAMATA officials and representatives from LASDRI, LASTMA and NPF.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) on Sunday conducted its year-end village meeting with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding bus drivers and operating companies.
At the event, awards were given to top-performing drivers from each of the seven First and Last Mile (FLM) zones, the best drivers from each Bus operating company, and to outstanding bus operating companies.
Speaking at the event, LAMATA’s Managing Director Engr. Mrs Abimbola Akinajo commended the drivers for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing the importance of responsible driving in ensuring the safety and comfort of commuters.
She also warned against misconduct, such as overspeeding and cash collection, highlighting consequences for those who violate these guidelines.
Award Winners include:
* Outstanding Performance Award (Driver) : Fasasi Oladapo
* Best Bus Deployment Award : BRTAN Cooperatives Multi-Purpose Society Ltd.
* Best FLM BOC Award : Ethical Base Limited
* Best Bus Maintenance Award : Teejay Motors Nigeria Limited
* Lowest Accident Rate Award : Labour City Transport Services Limited
“LAMATA’s recognition of these individuals and companies underscores its commitment to improving public transportation in Lagos and fostering a culture of excellence and reward within the industry,” LAMATA said in a statement.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including LAMATA officials and representatives from the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
