Today’s Photos : This 80s Truck Was Made By Joining Ford Station Wagon With MAN Heavy-duty Truck

Photos : Custom mid-engine semi-truck, Schnibbelmobil, was made by joining a Ford Station Wagon with a heavy-duty truck frame.
Back in the early 1980s, German heavy vehicle specialists, Colonia GmbH, built a Schnibbelmobil, a strange semi-truck commissioned by German aluminum foundry, VAW Aluminum.
The Schnibbelmobil, alternatively known as the Cologne Crocodile, started life as a MAN F8 cabover semi-truck, according to German vintage commercial vehicle magazine, Historischer Kraftwerkehr.
To make this truck, Colonia mashup a first-generation Ford Granada Turnier station wagon produced from 1972 to 1976 and the frame of MAN F8 heavy-duty truck.
Inside, the Schnibbelmobil retains the Granada’s dashboard and its steering wheel. The truck was powered by a 414-horsepower turbodiesel engine.
The Schnibbelmobil was taken out service and stored in a shed somewhere after Colonia completed an apparently longer successor in the late 1990s.
