The assembly of trucks has begun at the Trucks Assembly plant in Ondo State. The cars and trucks assembly plant at the Ondo-Linyi industrial hub is situated in Ore.

One of the investors at the Industrial Hub, Dongfeng Trucks, has started assembling of trucks at the industrial hub.

Manager of the industrial hub, Chief Alex Ajipe, who disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Akure said Dongfeng Trucks, established in 1969, is one of China’s leading truck brands. Ajipe noted that the truck assemblage plant at the hub was a historic breakthrough for the state.

He said the plant would begin full assembly of trucks when the COVID-19 pandemic subsided. The plant is located in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, “This is the first time in the history of the state that a truck assembly plant will be operating in the state.

“The hub has recorded landmark establishments, such as one of the highest capacity producers of high-quality food-grade ethanol in Nigeria.

“It has the first MDF factory in West Africa; a high-capacity textile mill and a paper mill, among others, all of which have employed the state indigenes in their thousands,” he said.

We are a little behind schedule but dry runs for the new truck assembly plant at our industrial hub has commenced. #COVID19 or No COVID, our relentless efforts to industrialize Ondo State must continue.

The Ondo-Linyi Industrial hub was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari. This happened during the third anniversary of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration.
