Volvo Provides Europeans With Access To The Tesla Supercharger Network

Volvo Cars has announced a major new step in expanding its electric car charging infrastructure. The automaker will allow its customers in Europe to use the Tesla Supercharger network starting in the last quarter of 2026.
The information has been officially confirmed by Volvo, and access to Tesla stations will be integrated directly into the Volvo app. Thus, drivers of Volvo electric models will be able to charge their cars at more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger chargers in 29 European countries.
The Swedish automaker thus joins a growing wave of automakers working with Tesla to expand access to fast-charging infrastructure. With this move, Volvo is trying to reduce one of the main barriers to the adoption of electric cars: quick and easy access to charging infrastructure.
The main target markets include Germany, France, Norway, Great Britain, Sweden, Italy and Spain – countries where Tesla’s infrastructure is already very well developed.
According to the company, Volvo drivers already have access to more than 1.2 million charging points in Europe, and approximately three million globally via a dedicated app, regardless of who the operator is. With the integration of the Tesla Supercharger, the network becomes even larger for users of the Swedish manufacturer’s electric models.
The decision comes at a time when several automakers are trying to adopt common standards for charging and interoperability between networks, especially in markets where the infrastructure is still developing.
This move is also relevant for the European electric car market, where competition between manufacturers is increasingly shifting from the area of autonomy to the complete user experience, infrastructure and digital services.
