Volvo’s ‘Care By Volvo’ Subscription Ends After Seven Years
After about seven years, Volvo is ending ‘Care by Volvo’, which allows you to get a new car from Volvo itself on a subscription basis.
When you think of driving on a subscription basis, you probably immediately think of Lynk & Co. However, sister brand Volvo has also been doing this for years, under the name Care by Volvo. We first saw this way of selling new Volvos with the Volvo XC40. When this model, which is still successful in Europe, was introduced, Care by Volvo was also announced immediately.
Volvo offers a new Volvo for a fixed monthly fee through Care by Volvo, which is replaced by a brand new model after two years. All costs besides the usage costs are for Volvo, such as insurance, maintenance and repairs. However, Volvo has returned to its commitment to offering cars online. According to Automotive News, Volvo says: ‘We want to make sure that we deliver products that meet the needs of customers.’ So there probably simply isn’t as much demand for it as expected.
