Volvo’s Chief Designer Jeremy Offer Steps Down
Jeremy Offer, who joined Volvo as chief designer just over two years ago, is stepping down again. The Briton is handing over the reins to Nick Gronenthal.
In May 2023, Jeremy Offer joined Volvo as head of design. He previously worked for Arrival. Now, after just over two years, he’s already leaving. That’s rather soon, but according to Offer, it’s not a decision he made lightly. Automotive News has obtained internal communications from Offer regarding his departure, in which he explains that it’s “not an easy decision, but the right one for me.” He also says he’s very proud of the team and the work they’ve accomplished.
Offer will be temporarily succeeded by Nick Gronenthal, an American currently the head of automotive design at Volvo. This is reportedly an interim role. Meanwhile, none other than former Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath will be appointed as design consultant by Volvo’s parent company, Geely. There’s quite a bit of shifting going on; Volvo recently also got a “new old” CEO, with Håkan Samuelsson returning to the helm.
