China’s Xiaomi has again raised the delivery target of its SU7 (SU stands for Speed Ultra) to 130,000 units for the entire year of 2024 due to surging demand for the Electric Vehicle (EV), the company said in its 2024 Q3 revenue report.
First launched in March 2024 with a starting price of 215,900 yuan (or about $30,000), Xiaomi initially set to deliver 76,000 units this year but later revised it to 100,000 deliveries and then to 120,000 units to cope with the overwhelming demand.
In its 2024 Q3 revenue report, Xiaomi said 39,790 SU7s were delivered in the quarter and a total of 67,157 vehicles as of September 30th 2024. In October, deliveries exceeded 20,000 vehicles while Xiaomi achieved a cumulative production of 100,000 vehicles on November 13, 2024.
“Xiaomi will strive to achieve the delivering of 130,000 vehicles for the entire year of 2024. Xiaomi’s sales and service network is also rapidly expanding, with 127 smart EV sales centres across 38 cities in mainland China as of September 30, 2024, driving the Group to speed up the delivery.”
