From Timaya and Wizkid, to Laide Bakare and Skiibii, here are 12 Nigerian celebrities who became car owners in 2022.
1) Kolawole Ajeyemi

Nollywood actor, Kolawole Ajeyemi started the year in style after splashing out millions on a Lexus GX 460 SUV as his 40th birthday.
Sharing the news on her Instagram page, Ajeyemi’s wife, actress Toyin Abraham stylishly flaunt the Lexus GX her husband got days after his birthday.
She said : “Let me show off small🙈🙈🙈 Congratulations Baba mi #kolawoleajeyemi opor🙌🙌”
2) Ibrahim Chatta

Popular Nollywood Yoruba actor, Ibrahim Chatta, also started the year in style after splashing out millions on a Chevrolet Camaro RS Sports Car.
Sharing photos of himself posing with his latest ride on his official Instagram page, the award winning actor said :

Not one but three joined Nollywood Yoruba actress, Laide Bakare’s collection in May, with the first two, a Lexus RX and a Toyota Highlander, coming few weeks after her house warming ceremony.
Late in May, the movie producer also added a Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class luxury Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to her growing number of luxury cars.

In June, Bayelsa-born singer, Inetimi Alfred Odon, better known by his stage name Timaya, splashed millions on a new Ferrari 458 Sports Car.
While sharing photos and a video of his latest acquisition on Instagram on Tuesday, June 7th 2022, the “Dem Mama” Crooner said “I left my gal friends and got a new baby. FERARI 458 Iconic. CHULO way…”

Yoruba Nollywood actor, Ebun Oloyede, popularly known as Olaiya Igwe, in August got a surprise Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV gift from Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo.
After being handed over the keys to the Mercedes-Benz GLK, Olaiya, prostrated and rolled on the floor to show his appreciation to the new Chairman of Lagos Parks Management Committee.

In September, Gospel artiste, Mercy Chinwo, received a luxury Toyota Land Cruiser SUV as birthday gift from her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa.

Sharing pictures of her birthday present on her official Instagram page, the Ijebu-Ode born-actress wrote :

Also in September, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, splashed over ₦1 billion on 7 luxury cars, including Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Lamborghini Aventador, Mercedes-Maybach Van
The Lamborghini Aventador sports car, Rolls-Royce Cullinan and a customized Mercedes-Maybach Van alone cost over ₦800 million to own in Nigeria.
9) Burna Boy

In November, Burna Boy added a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ sports car and a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (S650) luxury sedan to his impressive collection of luxury cars.
While sharing the news on his Instagram Stories, the Grammy award winner stated that he bought the Lamborghini in preparation for the month of December and the Maybach because everyone needs it.

Recall that earlier in the year, Skiibii, born Abbey Toyyib Elias, splashed on an ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 sport utility vehicle (SUV) worth over ₦170 million.

While sharing pictures of herself with her new whip, the controversial actress revealed she sold her car, a Range Rover SUV, last year to raise funds to complete her bungalow.

Also in December, Veteran Nollywood Actress and singer, Shan George joined the “Mercedes Geng” after her children surprised her with a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 SUV as Christmas gift.
The 52 year old mother of two who shared the news on her Instagram account on Wednesday also posted the pictures of car key and vehicle particulars.
