2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Loses Three-pointed Star Hood Ornament
Daimler Mercedes-Benz is dropping the eye-catching three-pointed star hood ornament for the 2021 E-Class in the US.
According to Mercedes, young buyers are shying away from the E-Class cos they feel the bonnet ornament makes the car look old.
E-Class is the latest Mercedes model to lose its hood ornament, after the C-Class and SL-Class.
The Mercedes three-pointed star, along with Rolls-Royce’s Spirit Of Ecstasy and Bentley’s Flying B, is one of the most famous hood ornaments on cars.
Over the years, Mercedes has adorned its vehicles, including the C-Class, E-Class and S-Class, with the feature which simply represents the brand’s domination of the land, the sea, and the air.
Now, the Mercedes_benz E-Class is set to loose the eye-catching bonnet ornament for the 2021 model in US. According Mercedes, young targeted buyers are shying away from the E-Class cos they feel that the bonnet ornament makes the car look old.
So to attract younger customers to buy the E-Class, Mercedes, in addition to dropping the hood-top star, will redesign the grille with chrome pins to announce it’s presence.
The E-Class is the latest Mercedes model to lose its hood ornament, after the C-Class and SL-Class, although buyers in Europe and other markets can still get the feature.
