Amazon To Roll Out 10,000 Electric Delivery Rickshaws In India
The founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos has revealed that Amazon is ready to deliver 10,000 Electric Delivery Rickshaws in India by 2025.
Bezos had visited small businesses and sites around India in early January. During the visit, he announced that the company will bring 10,000 electric delivery vans to India.
The CEO also stated that Amazon is ready to create 1 million new direct and indirect jobs with continued investments in technology, infrastructure, and logistics in the country.
As Amazon is considered India’s ‘most attractive employer’, it has created 700,000 jobs since 2013. This will make a total of 1.7 million direct and indirect jobs by 2025.
According to Bezos, ”We are investing to create a million new jobs here in India over the next five years.”
“We’ve seen huge contributions from our employees, extraordinary creativity from the small businesses we’ve partnered with, and great enthusiasm from the customers who shop with us—and we’re excited about what lies ahead.”

Also, Jeff Bezos visited Mahatma Gandhi’s tomb as soon as he arrived India.

Previously, AutoJosh had reported that Jeff Bezos, has placed an order for 100,000 electric delivery vans from Rivian, few months after investing $700 million into the Michigan-based Tesla rival.
The first of the Amazon-exclusive Rivian delivery vans will be delivered in 2021. Furthermore, 10,000 should be on the road by 2022. All the 100,000 vans are expected to be operating in Amazon’s fleets by 2024.
