Teenager Arrested After Hitting A Record Speed Of 191 mph With Dad’s Stolen Mercedes
Teenager going for a “drive” with dads car arrested and charged with Street Racing and Criminal Dangerous Driving.
He hits a record speed of 308 km/h (191 mph) in an area with speed limit of just 100 km/h (62 mph).
His license was suspended for seven days, while his father’s Mercedes was impounded for seven days.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has seen a rise in “stunt driving” cases due to the near-empty road caused by the Covid-19 lockdown.
The latest is a 19-year-old who stole his dad’s Mercedes and was arrested after hitting 191 mph along the Queen Elizabeth Highway in Ontario.
OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt said :
“This is the fastest speed that I’ve ever heard of,”
He said the driver was going triple the speed limit in an area that the limit is just 62 mph.
“This is absolutely egregious for anyone to be going those kinds of speeds,”
Teenager arrested after hitting a record speed of 308 km/h (191 mph) in an area with a speed limit of just 100 kph (62 mph).
The 19-year-old and a 19-year-old passenger, who was in the vehicle at the time, were released at the scene.
The OPP added that the teenage driver was charged with street racing and criminal dangerous driving. His license was suspended for seven days and his father’s car impounded for seven days.
In Ontario, licenses are automatically suspended for seven days and cars impounded for seven days for this type of violation.
