All Volvo Cars Sold Worldwide To Have A Limited Top Speed Of 112Mph
From rumours circling around to reality, Volvo has now confirmed that all their latest cars will be limited to 112mph. This is not for specific models alone, it’s for all their cars no matter the engine specification. According to the automaker, the limitation goes beyond regulation and legislation. It is “to help close the remaining gap to zero serious injuries and fatalities in traffic.”
While some customers may frown at the latest development from the company, others are accepting it with good fate. In addition to the speed cap, every Volvo car will now also come with a Care Key, which allows drivers to set additional limitations on the car’s top speed. For example, they can do that before lending their car to other family members or to younger and inexperienced drivers.
With all these measures, Volvo is sending a message about the dangers of speeding. They are also underling the fact that their cars are the “safest in the world” as they claim. Now this question is how do other countries feel about this when their regulations require more speed? Germany, for example, has a no speed limit at certain sections of the Autobahn. They will now be deprived of that excitement as Volvo is after traffic safety and nothing will change their minds about it.
